August 15 – Release Preparation Window Begins
To ensure that you can effectively test the Workday 2026R2 Feature Release in your Sandbox Preview tenant, using the latest Production data, the Sandbox Preview tenant will be automatically refreshed from a copy of Production on Friday, August 14, at the beginning of the Weekly Service Update.
This automatic refresh of Sandbox Preview tenants from Production only happens twice a year in conjunction with each Release Preparation Window.
Due to the automatic refresh of the Sandbox Preview tenant during the Weekly Service Update on Friday, August 14, NSCs will not be able to submit a refresh request for the Sandbox Preview tenant from August 14 – August 15, during the daily tenant maintenance windows.
Sandbox Preview Refresh Exemptions are not permitted.
Sandbox Preview restores or rollbacks after the refresh will not be possible. Please plan your Sandbox Preview tenant activities accordingly.
In addition, we want to remind you of our Sandbox tenant refresh policy and special considerations around the delivery of the Workday 2026R2 Release Preparation Window.
Your Sandbox tenant is automatically refreshed from a copy of Production taken unless a Tenant Management > Refresh Exemption request is submitted. Exemption requests are due 8 hours before the start of the Weekly Service Update for your data center. This includes the Friday of the Release Preparation Window.
September 19 – Feature Release
The Sandbox Preview tenant is not automatically refreshed. An NSC must enter a Tenant Management > Refresh request to refresh your Sandbox Preview tenant after September 19.
No Sandbox Refresh Exemptions will be permitted on September 18.
Implementation tenants, including Implementation Preview, are only refreshed upon request.
AMU/GMS/GOV demonstration tenants must be refreshed to receive the latest Workday 2026R2 data and configurations. Engagement Managers (EMs), Project Managers (PMs) and/or NSCs must create a Tenant Management > Refresh request to have them refreshed after September 19.
