Please note that Workday has identified a scenario where performing a correction on a Change Job transaction may lead to unexpected changes in Organization Assignments.
When a user corrects an existing Change Job transaction by selecting a different Supervisory Organization and Position, the system automatically clears (drops) the previously associated Organization Assignments.
Why is this happening?
Organization assignments are mapped to specific positions. When a position is updated during a correction, the system identifies the existing assignments as technically invalid for the new position. To prevent data conflicts, the system clears these assignments by default.
Upcoming Change
To prevent accidental data loss, our development team is implementing a new warning message within the Correction process. This alert will appear if a user attempts to change the Position or Supervisory Org during a correction that already contains saved Organization Assignments. This provides users with immediate visibility, allowing them to manually re-verify and re-enter the necessary assignments before finalizing the transaction.
We apologize for the disruption this may have caused and request that you utilize the workaround till the warning alert is added to the Change Job business process.
